Having just completed main ORAS story, I'll say this: I appreciate all the little changes it made. Expansion of secret bases, dive spots, eon flute, gym redesigns and dex nav all give the region a fresh feel making it not seem like a retread.Permalink On twitter.com

And the story changes are also really good. Brandon and Archie/Maxie/Shelly all really bring these flat characters to life. I even like the Primal reversion bit of the plot. I also really enjoy this games art style and animations. Everything is top notch here except music imo.Permalink On twitter.com

I really think the EXP Share, extra story stops(like them telling me to go to meteor falls etc), and the characters walking me from place to place instead of letting me go out on my own hold it back as being superior from the originals, though. You can't even skip Brawly!Permalink On twitter.com

Like right now there's two camps of pokemon remakes for me. HGSS/ORAS and the rest. Obviously HGSS are superior games to ORAS, but idk, ORAS have effort and heart that BDSP and FRLG simply do not have. BDSP is barely a remake compared to this. Good games in the series imo.Permalink On twitter.com

Yes, I prefer RS, but I wouldn't say this butchers G3 or anything like that, and it gives a totally different feel. I think if you like Hoenn they're totally worth playing along side G3, and I'd be surprised if people genuinely hated this compared to G3.On twitter.com
