I had a realization as to why the Ruined Pokemon ignore the abilities from opposing Pokemon with the same ability. They didn't want say, Chien Pao, to lower its OWN defense with its OWN ability. So they made it so all Pokemon with Sword of Ruin are immune to it, as a lazy fix.
