Fan made formats are the backbone of the competitive Pokemon Community. They've been around longer than official ones, and the first official tournaments was not designed or balanced by gamefreak, but by Nintendo for several years. I don't think gf did balance till gen 5.Permalink On twitter.com

If Pokemon wasn't /meant/ to be played competitively in 6v6 singles, why are we allowed to? Pokemon is meant to be a game that can be experienced in infinite ways, otherwise they would limit how it could be played with your friends. But they don't do that, because it's fun.On twitter.com

If you don't like singles or metas with tons of bans, totally valid. But remember, VGC is doubles not because it's better, but doubles was chosen exclusively because matches go by quicker by nintendo reps so their ADS, which is what tournaments are, don't last 10 hours.Permalink On twitter.com
